Sunday's are the best day's~

Heya-

I am tired and ready to crash... Had an eventful few days since I have blogged- lots of work about 5 babies delivered, I worked out Thursday and today- went dancing on Thursday night as well-(ridiculously fun, love me some Reggae and SubT has yummy reggae on Thursday nights).
I took Friday and Sat off and kind of by accident but my body needed a break.
I will say I did have a few drinks on Sat night and that was a cheat but my diet has been really strict paleo and it has been full of deliciousness. Tonight Kerry and I made our own rendition of lasanga- it had lamb sausage and tons of veggies and we put it over spaghetti squash!~ yup delicious!!

Today I went to WL and did the amrap- I felt really strong with the 95# but my p-ups were not CTB- I had them last week or so when I went in on Sat?
My goal this week is to work on reg kipping p-ups- double unders- and some CTB.

I have only one slight problem, my knee is sore! I m pretty bummed about it considering it usually feels better by Wednesday after ultimate on Mon nights~ I already have my ultimate gear packed and it has my knee brace there and ready to go!!

PUMPED up- I was out on Sat night w bunch of people - acquaintances and they are from windy city CF. There is a big group goings as spectators- it made it much more real for me and I see how much work I need to be putting in or to keep the drive going!~ I have never done a competition like this, surely I have had many athletic events, but I am very excited for sectionals now!

Thats all for now, going to try to hit am class prework and then go straight to ultimate... then I am on call.... wish me a night tomorrow without any babies being born!

first kicked in the face- then I kicked some ass!

HA.... while my above title at least the first part is true- I was supporting a mom today during the end of her labor and she was lets just say very fiesty and nonetheless she kicked me in the face! The birth ended up being wonderful and safe and I was very glad to have been there with her. I then attended one other birth which also was a bit taxing and stressful - but no face kicking- sooo I was pumped up to get out in time to with the WOD.

I was definitely intimidated by the WOD because I knew it was going to be heavy- but I was also excited to get it in after seeing Kerry work so hard at it last night..

DL- did off CFT #225 (had PR at #250 prev)
my 3rd set was at 82# and I did 20 reps- could have prob done more but was getting fatigued.

metcon: 5 rounds of 7 reps of-
95# hang squat cleans and burpees

Man... it was heavy but more form felt pretty good and I just read Bryce's blog and as he said just pick the shit up... I did not fail once and I did fine once I picked up the bar. I most def was not strong enough to string multiple from the hang clean position except for the first set I did about 5 consecutive from the hang position then lost my grip. Most of the rest were from the ground and singles. Weight got heavy and from the squat position on the 4th set I had to push to stand straight. Burpees were fine but slowed down on set 4 and 5.

I had fun tonight and I think that is the most important!

FOOD: ( I love food by the way)
am- one egg white, two tsp of coconut mile and 1/4 of a mango
black coffee

afternoon: 3-40z tuna steak and veggies (free at work and awesome)

prewod:- 2oz tuna steak and mixed greens/ h20

postwod:- 2-3 oz t breast- 1 small cup of applesauce organic

45 min later - 10 walnuts/ 5 almonds

840 pm- 6 oz chili (finally gone! :( ) 1 big tbsp guacamole and veggies in chili

945 pm... still hungry ---?? ---- my aunt flo is coming and I get hungry! I had 1-2 tbsp almond butter and a few brocolli crowns

now- h20 and sleepy time tea

I am working on call tomorrow but hope to make it in to do todays WOD....
Im getting addicted!~ hell's yeah!

awhhh jeahhhh

That means ... things are good. Ha... I am sitting in bed and super sleepy- pager quiet (all night please) next to me, icing my knee! I was already in bed and decided it was just the right thing to get up and get the dang ice. Last week I promised I would not play ultimate without a brace and last night sure enough... I played without a brace... felt it all day and through out work out. I then played vball . I had so much fun though the last 30 hrs while I was playing sports and at CF of course that I am hoping I learn my lesson and by tomorrow I am crushing the rx squat cleans!~ looked like a killer workout and I am pumped for the challenge.

Today I did way better with portion control!~ that is somehow getting easier... (hopefully this lasts)
am- a few tbs of chili (buffalo style w mad yummy veggies) - 2 celery stalks- and a tbs of coconut milk
coffee black

afternoon snack- 10 walnuts and 10 almonds throughout day between patients
2 oz turkey breast- low sodium

Lunch- 2 oz t breast- spinach- 3 celery stalks and 2 dipped in fabulous guacamole from the mexican spot... p.s. 5$ for a bigg ass container- super fresh! (they look at me funny when I turn down the chips and fixings!)

post WOD- sashimi/ legal roll with Kerry from WFoods- with few bites of Kale mix

New Week- new energy

I am feeling pretty awesome...appropriately tired and ready for bed!

My day started with work and then I went straight to ultimate- unfortunately there were 4 girls and I did not get much playing time. I was hoping to get a good w-out in but def did get a bunch of full out sprints in.... the way Grok does it!

I was pretty happy about my diet today:

breakfast 2.5 egg whites, 1 tbs sun butter, 2 celery stalks
black coffee

lunch time- salad- mixed greens and a bunch of mixed veggies from work... yummy and free- 2 slices turkey breast (from work? not sure about how good for me but plain tky breast free!)
snacks-
about 3 cupfuls of mixed cauliflower and brocolli

2 celery stalks- with 1 tbs sunbutter spread through out

16 oz coconut water pre ultimate
16 oz cocunut water during and post ulitmate

1 apple drive home from game

dinner-
1 big bowl of my homemade buffalo/turkey chili w yummy veggies

I was conscious to eat better today and no alcohol- always temptations seeing my team went out for beer and tacos--- that would have been horrible - but I needed to come home and blog!~

I am hoping I can make it to the 6 am but if not the 6 pm/7pm tomorrow... It is close to midnight and I know sleep is imperative!

Feeling Good

I have not written since Wednesday, and that is because I have been super busy working out!~ Ha...
Actually last time I wrote I was feeling a little off, but I am feeling much more chipper and just happy to be where I am! I took a rest day on Thursday and Saturday this week, but for the most part had an awesome training week. Thursday I actually took a yoga class that had tons of core in it, so that was challenging as well.

I loved Friday's workout- I felt really strong on the SDHP/Press and then finishing with the row. I did 34# which was super light- but felt really nice to go fast through that wod. My row time was 1:54. The 430 pm class on Friday is fun for me because it is usually me and the boys!.. .


Interestingly enough- today was me and the ladies and still just as challenging and kick ass!
9 am workout- 95# squat clean/ jerks- felt good and strangely enough not until set 2! - My hamstrings are tired today and I def felt them on this one!
The 500m rows were a perfect push- my last row I fell off the consistency and was a little over the 2:00 min mark- overall I felt extremely challenged with this weight but I think my form work with Bryce last week paid off, because the cleans felt solid.
Part 2
Met the ladies at the Wloop location and this was my first time there. It sure is big....
I was nervous going in because my hand is tore up right now and we were doing 50 CTB and 50 burpees. I decided to just go for it!~ This was the most CTB I did and I think for the most part they were all legit and the one that was not - I redid.....
Burpees could have been a bit faster- my pace was good, but I broke them up too much.... I am working on that stamina~

My diet- too tired to write it out but in a nutshell- I have not cheated on paleo except I had 3 drinks Friday night- 2 glasses of wine on Sat night and surprisingly out of no where one random cocktail tonight.... all the drinks were on the rocks.
I made some yummy paleo concoctions including some buffalo chili- coconut milk/walnuts/ blueberry surprise (amazing treat)....

Tomorrow I buy a scale to weigh some stuff- no drinks this week and we will see what is what!!

I feel good and tired right now..... off to bed~

Hump Day

I was about to go to bed and write tomorrow but that is what I said yesterday!
This has been a funny week for me because I have been emotionally a little off balance- but luckily that seems to be working itself out!~ Im not about to flip out at the gym and start throwing kettle bells around or anything and as my calloused hands ripped open today it was not like the end of the world or anything- but I just feel off a bit!~ Nevertheless, I have been sticking to this paleo thang!
Today:
pre wout-
small piece of turkey ham
synergy drink
and 1 tbs almond butter
water

post w-out-
apple sauce
coffee black
2 small turkey jerky sticks

lunch-
pork tortilla/taco from work with no tortilla/taco
(pork (1 serving) tbs big guac- pinto de gallo- hots- lettuce/spinach- a few slices of cucumber
I get free food at work and this was delicious

snack-
apple (cheat!)
handful of walnuts

dinner:
4 oz mahi mahi
lettuce

snack:
6 almonds and 1/2 tsp of cocunut oil
OMG tasted like an almond joy without the chocolate but was out of control good

drinks- tons of water and also green tea plain at work

I definitely am still over eating... not sure if it the mood thing/ switch to paleo but at least I am conscious of it!~ tomorrow I will do better

Today I felt tired at the gym but had fun at the 9 am class and did decent on the WOD- but honestly I was not going full force like a crazy woman because I was so slow at the HSPU's. P-ups better, and Jumping squats def tired me out.... I was mostly 10 and 5's with those. I stuck around after and did some rowing.... felt good with that especially because I was tired to begin with and post wod.

Yesterday was similiar eating- will be better about daily posts and more organized- had awesome time yesterday at gym working on snatch and clean form after WOD w Bryce- thanks for the extra time with that BTW. Yesterday's WOD did 67# cleans and was feeling a bit challenged with that but overall OK... I slipped a few times and lost the small band for ring dips and it slowed me down- I needed to be more stable while hoping on the band and not be trying to rush so much because it cost me a few seconds.....

I have been reading other ladies blogs and Amy's Kerry's Alison's and Jessica's have been daily reads to me... I am sooo impressed with your diets and seriously if I was as disciplined as you gals the extra lovin I have would be melting away!~ I am a work in progress and I am excited as can be about it and this journey!~ Thanks for helping inspire me!!

Monday- start of a new week!~

I was telling Alison today that I love how she does the whole energy level, mood level, hrs of sleep etc... so I might be biting of that concept starting tomorrow- because as we know all that places a major part of how we are doing and where our head is at.

I am in a great space. I sometimes forget that and I am going to try not to get tooo deep on anyone reading this, but today was one of those days where I was feeling kind of yucky. Not sure why- but just not my normal upbeat self. I am thinking it is more to do with the stressors I am creating for myself!~ (this is funny that we will do that).- so no more of that this week or this month or hopefully for while. Stress as we know is a good thing but only when necessary. I am laughing now that my mood was low, I just saw a feature on Haiti and that is something to be stressed about!~

I was off from work today and I slept in a bit- I could not sleep well last night- not sure why?. My brain was busy I guess. I am hoping for a different scenerio tonight esp after leaving shortly for my ultimate game. ( we play at the indoor soccer space on the south side)
I will prob not be home til midnight and by then be whooped and ready to crash.

What I did however accomplish today was some work that needed to be done for the hospital, and more importantly a bad ass work out at the 4 pm class today. Ive been really lucky to be working with Alison, Erin, and all the other ladies that have amazing form and are lifting heavy weights. It is awesome to be pushed. I felt pretty excited about the Metcon, and once I went to clean the #105 I was like.... damn!~ It was heavy and I failed the clean on rounds 2 and 3 both once. I know I need lots of work on my cleans but this is ridiculous. I am realizing I was prob a bit worn out after the p-ups and the strenght work but I should be able to do that without so much struggle. I did it and got through the workout- hmmmm CTB pups probably not- but I am in a better spot with p-ups over all, burpees ok for me today.

I still have this weak head ache going on. Not sure what it is about. I am trying to stay as paleo as possible and doing maybe a bit better about not overeating.

Today
am- 2 egg whites / 1/4 avacado/ greens and some veggies

afternoon- 1 egg white/ more veggies/ a bite of salmon I made for my friend/ EVOO on salad
prewod green tea- tbs of almond butter

post wod- 3 oz salmon- coconut water 8 -12 oz 1/2 banana


dinner- 2 egg whites/ 1/4 avacodo/ salad and veggies- tried some of those kale chips (good)


pre ultimate- 1/2 banana- 1 tsp almond butter

during ultimate- H20 and 10 oz cocunut water

I hope that is what happens after ultimate~ I know I need to be better about portions and such. I am going to get a scale this week and be anal for awhile- I need to do it to reach the goals!

I am feeling much better and ready to go play and ready for tomorrow and the next day and the next day.

sunday sunday

OK.... I am going to start blogging and talking about my life a little bit here. I have been eating paleo now for 6 days and have not been perfect. I am about to tweak this up so I have the best results possible. I had fun yesterday making some elk/turkey chili with Kerry and it was so delicious that I probably- well I did over eat!~ had that extra half of a bowl but it was sooo yummy. I could make that again and love it. There was some extra salt added in but otherwise amazing and paleo.
Today I woke up later than I was supposed to - missed the WOD- but may still be able to sneak in to the open gym, waiting to hear back from Jonny. I also am thinking about going to play ultimate at 1 pm so if I cant make it in, I will be there at 9 am tomorrow.
Last weeks work outs were killer for me. I had been out of the gym for so many days and then last week I hit 3 WOD and played ultimate as well as yesterday got out and did an interval run. It felt good to be outside and hit the pavement. I was disappointed with my attitude on Friday's workout- I was complaining about the 55# KBS being heavy. Of course they were heavy, but I did not need to complain about them. I need to bring my mentally tough game with me this week.
The good thing about last week was that I did decent on my row time, and I worked on my pull ups. I think this week I am going to see a drastic improvement on my kipping pull ups and that excites me majorly!!~ many workouts my time is slowed way down because I am breaking to often during KPU's... no more my friends!~ (this is my new positive attitude breaking out!)

This week I am going to eat less- this week I just wanted to eat eat eat, substituting my nastiness that I had experienced from 12/25- 1/10. It was pretty incredibly bad....
So now that my body is hopefully somewhat reacquainted with paleo living, I need to tone it down. I am feeling a little better than last week and down 3 lbs. But I am 2-3 lbs heavier right now than I was about a month ago!~ sooo I have about a 13# weight loss goal to reach. Hopefully if I stay committed which is the plan I can have that by our final assessment of this challenge, or close to it!

Today-
1 egg (whole thing)
1 chicken sausage - nitrate free style
1/2 tsp sun butter

1 slice of tomatoe
1 big sip of coconut water

I m gonna get ready to go play ultimate and run around. - guess I will be in at 9 am manana!~
